FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The Fairfield Township Fire Department is mourning the loss of Assistant Chief Paul McKendry.
Assistant Chief McKendry died Monday, Feb. 23 at Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.
Assistant Chief McKendry, age 51 was a 22.5 year veteran of Fairfield Township Fire Department. He was the first full-time employee of Fairfield Township Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife Janet, daughter Melissa and son Chris and his wife Kristin. Melissa is a member of Fairfield Township Fire Department and his son Chris is a full-time firefighter with the City of Memphis Tennessee. Assistant Chief McKendry is also survived by four brothers and one sister.
The body of Assistant Chief McKendry was escorted from Mercy Hospital to the Ivy Funeral Home by Fairfield Township Firefighters with assistance from City of Fairfield Fire, City of Fairfield Police, Fairfield Township Police, City of Hamilton Police, City of Hamilton Fire Department, Butler County Sheriff, Oxford Fire Department and Liberty Township Fire Department.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
