CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - There's big changes on the riverfront as the Banks project is set to get underway.
Construction crews got started bright and early Wednesday morning to start the Banks project They are going to pour concrete for the first above ground structure, the Freedom Way East Garage.
The garage will serve as parking under Freedom Way, the road that will link all phases of the riverfront development.
City leaders say the Banks will be a catalyst for regional economic growth. It is expected to drive in an estimated $600 million in private investments, provide housing for more than 3,000 residents and create hundreds of jobs during construction alone.
Construction crews started pouring 28 truck loads of concrete on Wednesday morning, and will continue throughout the day.
