NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - The murder trial for Cheryl McCafferty, the Fort Thomas woman accused of murdering her husband, resumes Monday morning.
Cheryl says she killed her husband, Bob, in self-defense, but prosecutors say it was planned out.
On Friday, prosecutors presented evidence that Cheryl did Internet searches five days before Bob's murder on the Amy Bosley murder case. Bosley was another Campbell County woman who pled guilty to killing her husband.
However, Cheryl McCafferty's defense attorneys argued that Cheryl was not researching the case, but rather Amy Bosley's lawyer, Keith Gambrel. He's also the attorney Cheryl McCafferty planned to use during her divorce from her husband.
"Here we are five days before this homicide, and she's on the computer researching the case that's very factually similar to this one," said FOX19 legal expert Mike Allen. "I really think the prosecution scored a lot of points today with the jury on that point."
