CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The popular owner of Linda's Mini-Mart is dead.

Police arrived on scene at Ninth and Elm Monday afternoon and found Wade Nassar, who was a man of Palestinian descent, 62 years old, owner of the store, and is now a victim of homicide.

No one else was hurt when the crime took place around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, in broad daylight.

Police say there was no one in the store at the time.  A customer who came in to the store to buy something found Nassar lying on the ground, and called police.

Police say Nassar died of blunt force trauma and multiple stab wounds.

After the crime, the suspect ran west on Ninth Street, then south through Goshen Alley toward Eighth Street.

Police are asking for help in finding the suspect. Witnesses described the suspect as a black man in his early 20's, six feet tall, 160 pounds, wearing a beanie hat and tan jacket covered in blood.

People who know the victim say the crime is sickening.

"If you didn't have your change, he would give you a break," said Jaushua Davis, a customer at the store. "I mean since I've been coming down here for the past three years he's been pretty cool.  So its sad that people come down here and you can't even shop in the store or have a business and worry about what is going to happen to you the next minute. It doesn't make sense."

Nassar made headlines in November 2007 when he fired shots at a suspect who attempted to rob his store.  He did not face charges in that case, but the suspect who attempted to rob him was charged with robbery and breaking and entering.

Police say they are following several leads.
