Local FBI searches for Ky. Fugitive

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19)-- The Federal Bureau of Investigation is asking for the public's help in finding a federal fugitive.

The Cincinnati Division of the FBI is searching for 46-year-old James Hammes of Lexington, KY. In February, an arrest warrant was issued to Hammes after he was charged with wire fraud and money laundering.

According to officials, Hammes was the Lexington controller for a Cincinnati Company, G&J Pepsi-Cola Bottlers,Inc. between 2004 and 2009. During that time he deposited $4.6 million of the company's funds to a bank account he controlled. Hammes then would take those funds and transfer them to other accounts. The company fund were in the form of payments to a label supplier, but that supplier had no knowledge or control of the account.

James Hammes is 5 feet and 8 inches tall and weighs 195 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of James Hammes is asked to call their nearest FBI office.
