It is good news that Maria have weakened and maximum winds are now 110 mph dropping the storm into Category 2, but it is too early to let out guard down.
Maria could re-intensify the next couple days over the warm waters near the Bahamas but all signs are that the storm will struggle to re-gain mid-tier Category 3 status. In addition Maria could affect the East Coast. At this point landfall is not likely but as the remnants of Maria and José draw closer together, beach erosion, rip currents and rain and wind squalls could lash the coast.
Tonight, around here, the sky will clear and patchy fog will once again form.
Summer Ends at 4:02 PM EDT Friday and your first weekend of autumn will feel like summer
