MARIA continues to rotate as a category 2 storm. It is moving northward in the western Atlantic and tropical storm watches have been posted for a portion of the North Carolina coast. High surf and rip currents are now arriving on parts of the east coast.
Our protective dome of high pressure remains across the region. Once again Monday and Tuesday expect high temps in the upper 80s to 90° under mainly sunny skies. Wednesday will see highs in the mid 80s, but a weak cold front will move through the region. I don't anticipate any rainfall with this front but some much cooler air will follow with high temps on Thursday in the low to mid 70s. From Friday into the weekend even cooler air will enter the tri-state with upper 60s slated for the weekend
