Explosion, fire tears through NKY mobile home

WALTON, KY. (FOX19 NOW) - Fire and an explosion destroyed a mobile home in Northern Kentucky early Monday, fire officials said.

It doesn’t appear anyone was inside when explosions rocked the trailer and fire tore through it on Crouch Road off Beaver Road about 12:30 a.m., Verona fire officials said.

A neighbor said she heard hearing explosions before fire was seen.

The explosion was sparked by possibly ammunition or car parts, fire officials said.

The trailer was fully engulfed when fire crews arrived.

A car from the home is gone, leading fire officials to believe no one was inside when explosions began.

The cause remains under investigation. A damage estimate was not immediately available.

Fire crews cleared the scene by 4:44 a.m.
