ANNAPOLIS, MD (WXIX) - The University of Cincinnati’s bowl drought is officially over.

Mike Warren scored the go-ahead touchdown with 1:29 remaining in the fourth quarter and James Wiggins intercepted a pass on Virginia Tech’s final drive as the Bearcats won the Military Bowl 35-31.

It is the team’s first bowl victory since 2012.

Starting quarterback Desmond Ridder left the game in the first quarter with an injured ankle, but senior back-up Hayden Moore helped lead UC to its first bowl win in four tries.

Warren finished with 166 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Moore finished with 120 passing yards and 64 yards rushing.

It’s Luke Fickell’s first bowl win since taking over at UC and the Bearcats' third 11-win season in program history.
