SWITZERLAND COUNTY, IN (FOX19) - The Switzerland County Sheriff’s Office in Vevay, Ind. is looking for a missing 30-year-old woman who was last seen in Patriot.

Brittany Hammond has been missing since mid-December and it’s been nearly a month since any family member has heard from the mother of five.

“She would contact me everyday. You know, ‘Mom what are you doing? Where you at?’ even if I was at work,” Hammond’s mother Melinda Lewis said. “She wears her heart on her sleeve, she’s very helpful, she helps out, she loves everybody. She’s a very sweet girl.”

Hammond’s family has been making regular trips from Hamilton County to Switzerland County to hang posters and continue to search for answers in the disappearance.

“I beg people to put them in their stores, do whatever I can. I call Switzerland County every day, every chance that I get. I ask them what I can do to help them,” Hammond’s sister Jessica Riley said.

Switzerland County sheriff’s officials say they haven’t stopped working on the case since the family came in to report Hammond missing. They said the Indiana State Police and Indiana Conservation are now involved with the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Spilman at the Switzerland County Sheriff’s Office at 812-427-3636.
