UNION TWP, OH (FOX19) - A 38-year-old Kentucky man died in a crash with a school bus late Tuesday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers and fire crews responded to Interstate 275 near the Milford Parkway in Union Township, patrol officials said in a news release early Wednesday.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a southbound vehicle hit the rear of a 2004 GMC school bus about 9:16 p.m., the release states.
The vehicle became disabled in the right lane, and the bus came to a controlled stop on the right shoulder.
The driver of the striking vehicle, identified as Dustin Traylor of Foster, Kentucky, was taken to Mercy Hospital Anderson, where he was pronounced dead, according to OSP.
The driver of the school bus, 76, and his passenger, an 18-year-old coach, was not hurt, patrol officials said.
No students were on the bus.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Traylor was not wearing a seatbelt, according to OSP. White was wearing a seatbelt.
