One dead and one hospitalized after West End shootings
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - One man is dead and another is in the hospital after shootings in the West End on Sunday morning, according to Cincinnati Police.
Cincinnati Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 900 block of Findlay at 4:23 a.m.
Police located the shooting victim, Donte Ford, 31, and transported him to University Hospital. The victim was pronounced dead upon arrival.
According to police, a second shooting was dropped off at University Hospital. He is expected to survive his injuries.
Police are not yet releasing the name of the second shooting victim.
There was another shooting on Central Avenue and Court Street in the West End Sunday morning, police say.
Police say that the third shooting victim that was is not related to this investigation.
“The details and nuances of this investigation, I can’t discuss. Because we need that for credibility of the witnesses that do come forward,” said Cincinnati Police Sergeant Miller.
Police say if you know something about this case, call them.
Community leaders like Mitchell Morris and Peterson Mingo are behind that push.
“We can’t harbor guys that keep killing babies in our communities. It’s time to step up and say something,” said Morris.
“We’re gonna point you out, make sure everybody knows who you are, and we’re not gonna fear you, they need to fear us,” said Mingo.
