HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - Hamilton police are still searching for the person who gunned down an 18 year old.

Police say Londale Harvey was sitting in his car which was parked on the corner at Pleasant Avenue. That’s when someone came up to the window and shot him several times. Now his aunt and a grandmother are still trying to understand why anyone would want to harm Harvey.

“He pretty much got along with people. He didn’t deserve this,” said Sjuwana Springfield, Harvey’s aunt.

Springfield was out of town when she got the call that her nephew was rushed to the hospital after he was shot twice in the head.

“I did make it to see him take his last breath," she said.

It’s another heartbreak for the family who just lost Harvey’s mother due to health reasons eight months ago.

“It’s just a place of emptiness because he was all I had left of her which was really my everything,” said Springfield.

According to the police report, Harvey was parked near Pleasant and Fairview Avenue when he was shot in broad daylight with several people watching. Now, five days later, no arrests have been made.

“Nobody knows nothing somebody got to know something,” said Mary Maffett, Harvey’s grandmother.

FOX19 spoke with a witness who says she saw a black car pull up to Harvey’s car moments before he was shot and then she saw the car speed away. Springfield is now pleading for other witnesses to come forward.

“Your word is all you have. They got this saying snitches get stitches but would you rather get the stitches or would you rather have it be your son or your daughter next, because it very well could be. If people can take his life like that in broad daylight and don’t care, they’re not going to care anything about the next person,” said Springfield.

Springfield says she won’t rest until her nephew’s killer is found and arrested.

Harvey’s family and friends are planning to have a vigil in the same spot where Harvey was killed. It will be held Friday at 6 p.m. They are inviting everyone in the area to join them.
