HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that happened on Sunday on State Route 48 in Warren County.

The crash took place at 11:57 a.m. near milepost 9 in Hamilton Township, according to troopers.

Troopers say Brian R. Young, 63, was driving southbound on State Route 48 when he traveled left of center and struck a northbound vehicle driven by Rodney T. Ferneding, 47.

Young was not wearing a seat belt and was transported to Arrow Springs Hospital where he was pronounced deceased, said troopers.

Ferneding was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Bethesda North Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Bradley T. Zimpelman, a passenger in Ferneding’s car, was transported to Arrow Springs Hospital and later to University of Cincinnati Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Neither alcohol or drugs are suspected to be contributing factors in the crash, said troopers.
