CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Fire Department’s Hazardous Device Unit responded to the DHL terminal at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport for a report of a suspicious package overnight, fire officials said.

Crews were asked to assist Northern Kentucky authorities at the airport just after midnight.

Members of CFD’s Hazardous Device Unit secured the package and moved it to a more remote location on the property so they could continue to examine it and determine whether it was a threat.

They determined the device was safe and left it with the local authorities for further investigation, fire officials said. They cleared the scene after about two hours.

Fire officials referred further questions to a CVG spokesman who could not immediately be reached for comment.
