CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A Mt. Washington man is thankful he wasn’t hurt after a bullet went through his window during a shooting.
Jason Napier is left cleaning up $2,000 worth of damage. The bullet flew through his window and hit his flat screen TV before becoming lodged into the wall.
It was all captured on surveillance video inside his apartment. First you hear multiple shots, then you see a cloud of smoke as a round shatters through the window narrowly missing his dog Zander lying on the couch.
Napier says that he was still at the gym Wednesday when the chaos broke out around 7 p.m. on the 1700 block Sutton Avenue.
“If we were there we would definitely be sitting on the couch, so it’s a good chance we would have gotten hit. It was pretty scary -- timing would have been everything," he said.
Napier has been living in his home for the past seven years, but he says recently there has been an uptick in crime.
“On a regular you hear people arguing and doing their thing but this went overboard, than the average. This has gotten a little too crazy for me,” said Napier.
Now he says police and his neighbors have to step up to control the crime -- if not, he fears what could happen next to him or his loved ones.
Cincinnati police say it’s not yet known who was firing the shots. Currently they do not have any suspects. They tell us that they are adding more patrols in the area.
