CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - FRIDAY will be cool and dry with a mostly to completely cloudy sky.
A southern storm system will move north and drag plenty of moisture and unstable air into the Tri-State. Rain will arrive after midnight and in the immediate area surrounding the city of Cincinnati and remain generally light until late Saturday morning.
From late morning into the predawn hours of Sunday rain could be heavy with some localized short-term flooding. In addition Saturday afternoon and evening conditions will be just unstable enough to support marginally severe thunderstorms. The main threat will be damaging winds. The Ohio River Forecast Center has the Ohio exceeding flood stage in Cincinnati and upriver in Maysville over the weekend. In Maysville it will pass flood stage Sunday evening and in Cincinnati that will occur early Monday. The river is forecast to rise through the entire forecast period to 53 feet in Cincinnati and to 50.9’ in Maysville. The forecast period which ends Tuesday morning. It could go even higher after Tuesday.
