UNION TWP, OH (FOX19) - A man is under arrest on a murder charge in connection with a fatal assault at a Clermont County hotel, police said.
Bond was set at $2 million for Jabar Ishmail, 38, when he faced a judge in Clermont County Municipal Court on Friday morning.
He was booked into the jail about 10 p.m. Thursday.
Police were called to the Days Inn off Mt. Carmel Tobasco Road for a report of an assault about 8 a.m. Thursday.
Someone told police they were assaulted, and authorities say they found a second victim in a room.
Both people were taken to a local hospital, where one of them died.
Police identified that person as Kailin Jones, 25.
According to the 911 call, Ishmail told those staying at the motel that he was attacked and needed help.
“He said that someone got into his room. He don’t know how. I don’t know how, but that they tried to kill him. He’s bleeding from his head," the caller said.
When police arrived to the motel they said they found Jones inside a room on the second floor with multiple stab wounds.
The affidavit states, “Ishmail inflicted multiple stab wounds to Jones which resulted in her death”
An investigation into the incident is ongoing. Police did not disclose a motive or say what led up to the violence.
Ishmail is expected back in court on March 25.
