COLLEGE HILL, OH (FOX19) - A Cincinnati firefighter is recovering from a minor hand injury that sent him to the hospital after a College Hill fire overnight, fire officials said.
Two people safely escaped a 2-alarm house fire in the 5900 block of Beltmont Avenue about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.
When firefighters arrived, they said they found fire on the first floor that appeared to extend to the second floor.
A second alarm was sounded to call for more firefighters due to the large size of the home and one of the water hoses was run over, fire officials said.
Two people inside made it out safe while fire crews contained the fire to the rear first floor.
The house is not livable at this time, and damage is set at $250,000, according to the fire department.
The cause of the blaze is undetermined.
In all, more than 60 firefighters responded to the blaze.
