CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - FC Cincinnati and Sporting KC finished with a 1-1 draw at Nippert Stadium.
FCC scored first in the 19th minute when Roland Lamah drew a yellow-card in the goal box. Darren Mattocks scored the penalty kick, giving FCC the early lead.
It wasn’t until the 62nd minute that the score was tied by Sporting KC. FCC’s defender Greg Garza and goalkeeper Spencer Richey mis-communicated at the top of the goal box, leading to an easy finish for Sporting KC’s 16-year-old, Gianluca Busio.
The crowd at Nippert erupted in the 84th minute, when FCC’s Nick Haggland headed the ball into the goal, but swiftly settled down as the offsides flag was up.
FCC is now 2-2-2, fifth in Major League Soccer’s eastern conference standings.
The club will travel to Los Angeles for match-up against the Los Angeles Football Club on April 13th.
