New Orleans Police arrested a man accused of carjacking a person he asked to give him a ride early Sunday morning.

SYMMES TWP, OH (FOX19) - A 77-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Symmes Township Tuesday and died at a hospital early Wednesday, authorities said.

Mary Lahti-White was pronounced dead at University of Cincinnati Medical Center, according to the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.

Christopher Mullins, 27, didn’t see her in the crosswalk on Humphrey Road approaching the intersection of Pinto Court about 8:15 a.m., according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. He hit the woman, who lived nearby, with his eastbound 2016 Ford Mustang.

The Loveland-Symmes Fire Department transported Lahti-White the hospital, sheriff’s officials said.

Mullins was not hurt.

The incident remains under investigation.

Speed, alcohol and/or drugs are not factors in the crash, sheriff’s officials said.
