‘Kayleigh earned her angel wings’ Clermont Co girl loses cancer battle

UNION TWP, OH (FOX19) - A Clermont County girl whose cancer battle inspired singer Ed Sheeran to send a video of support has succumbed to the disease,

Kayleigh Hogan died Wednesday night, according to the latest post on “Team Kayleigh” Facebook page.

She recently left Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to spend her final weeks at home with her family under hospice care.

The West Clermont Middle School student battled cancer for five years, according to her Facebook page.

Besides Sheeran, Kayleigh also received messages of hope from FC Cincinnati Head Coach Alan Koch, sports memorabilia from professional athletes and visitors from the Cincinnati Zoo.
