CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A Cincinnati mother is facing new drug charges a week after going before a judge for overdosing with her 10-year-old child in the backseat.

Newport Police Chief Tom Collins says Samantha Bronson was arrested Sunday around 8 p.m. on 13th Street and Central Avenue.

Bronson overdosed and passed out behind the wheel of her vehicle in the middle of the intersection, police confirm.

She was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ft. Thomas where she was signed and released and given a court date of May 6 at 8:30 a.m.

Police charged Bronson with a DUI, driving while suspended, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A blood sample was sent to a lab, sources say the result should be back in about a month.

Friday, Bronson faced a judge on child endangering charges for bringing her child along to purchase heroin, police said.
