CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A soccer game with a different kind of goal is returning to Xavier this weekend.
Xavier Head Soccer Coach Andy Fleming’s daughter, Devin, was born with Down Syndrome in 2011.
Devin helps pump up the Xavier soccer team before a game.
Every year, Xavier plays a game for Devin to raise money for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati.
More importantly, they do it to raise awareness.
“This cause, this game and what we do with Devin - it mirrors the cause of the school. Before the game it’s moving, but during the 90 minutes I forget we’re there for Devin - but I always drive home feeling full, happy to be at Xavier and thankful," Fleming said.
The match will be held at the XU Soccer Complex on Saturday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m.
All tickets are $5 at the gate.
