CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A Cincinnati police officer went above the call of duty when he helped deliver a baby early Thursday morning.

Police said D5 officer Kevin Holmes delivered a baby boy in Winton Terrace.

Officers responded to a trouble run at 28 Kings Run Court called in by neighbors at 12:25 a.m. Officers arrived and, upon realizing what was occurring, called for firefighters but the mother was well into the delivery before they arrived, police said.

Lt. Steve Saunders said the baby arrived with five minutes of officers arriving.

Mom and baby boy were then transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.
