Man tries to destroy 400 grams of crystal meth during traffic stop
The Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Task Force says they arrested De’Antae Lamont Tae Wallace, 31, was arrested Wednesday during a traffic stop.

BUTLER COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - A man who the Butler County Sheriff’s Office believes is the head of a drug transporting organization is facing multiple charges.

The Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Task Force says they arrested De’Antae Lamont Tae Wallace, 31, was arrested Wednesday during a traffic stop.

Officials say they stopped a 2008 gold Kia Sorento SUV registered to Eddie Smiley, Jr., but found Wallace driving the vehicle.

They say Wallace attempted to destroy the 400 grams of crystal methamphetamine found in the vehicle as officers were making the stop.

Officials did not specify how Wallace attempted to destroy the drugs.

He is charged with possession of drugs, trafficking in drugs and tampering with evidence.

Officials say the investigation into the distribution of narcotics in Butler County was lengthy and they believe Wallace is the head of the operation.

Wallace used multiple avenues of transportation of narcotics into the Butler County area, officers say.
