CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - After possibly reaching on a tight end in Round 2, the Cincinnati Bengals have selected a linebacker in the 2019 NFL Draft.
The Bengals opened up this year’s draft Thursday by taking an offensive lineman in the first round for the second year in a row.
After that, things got a little strange. The Bengals selected a tight end -- Drew Sample, from the University of Washington -- that was projected to possibly go in Round 3 or Round 4 of the draft.
Some were wondering if the Bengals would take a linebacker after releasing Vontaze Burfict earlier this year. Well they got their answer in the Third Round, when the Bengals selected North Carolina State linebacker Germaine Pratt.
The second-round pick came after the team traded down.
