CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Michael Stumph, convicted of murdering an 89-year-old man by stabbing him to death in 2016, was sentenced Monday to life in prison.
Otto Stewart, 89, was killed in November at his home on Virginia Avenue in Northside.
Margaret Kinney, 41, was also charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery.
Police say Kinney caused Stewart’s death “by means of a knife and ligature while committing theft of victim’s vehicle, US currency, and other personal valuable items,” court records state.
The prosecuting attorney said that Kinney and Stumph were living with Stewart and taking advantage of him in the weeks before the murder.
Kinney was sentenced to life without parole.
Stumph was facing the death penalty, but as part of his plea to aggravated murder and robbery he was given life in prison.
