West End shooting: Police ID victim, say he died on way to hospital

Police search for suspect in fatal West End shooting

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati police have identified the victim of a fatal Tuesday shooting in the West End.

It happened around 11 a.m. near the corner of Linn and Clark streets. When first responders located the victim, he was taken to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police have identified the victim as Mark Williams, Jr., 27.

The crime scene briefly closed part of Linn Street, and schools in the area went on lock down for a short time as well.

“Someone around here saw something” Lt. Steve Saunders said.

Police say they’re looking for a man who rode up to the scene on a bicycle, then left on foot. He was wearing all black. Police believe he is in his 20s. If you saw something, police want you to call the homicide unit at 513-352-3542 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 513-352-3040.
