LEBANON, OHIO (FOX19/Cincinnati Enquirer) - A medical marijuana business in Lebanon, Ohio became the first one of it’s kind in the Tri-State to get certified, the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy announced Tuesday.
The board awarded Warren County’s About Wellness Ohio a Dispensary Certificate of Operation, making the business ready for sales.
According to our media partners with the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Lebanon store was one of 59 dispensaries in the state with provisional licenses.
That means they had to wait to be certified to operate before they can begin selling marijuana buds or cannabis-infused products prescribed to treat one of 21 qualifying conditions under Ohio’s medical marijuana law, they say.
By the end of April, the Enquirer says 13 of the 59 dispensaries became certified, but none in Southwest Ohio.
About Wellness Ohio is the first of what the Enquirer says are seven dispensaries within a 60-mile radius of Cincinnati to become certified.
They say Ohio law limits patients to a 90-day supply of medical marijuana.
The Enquirer reported that the dispensary went through final inspection in early May and that the business had already begun training staff and had hours posted on the door.
The Lebanon store is located at 1525 Genntown Dr., Suite B5.
