CINCINNATI, OH (Cincinnati Enquirer) - A teacher's aide at the School for Creative and Performing Arts is on administrative leave while district officials investigate allegations of "inappropriate contact" with a student, officials said.
The alleged incident took place after a performance at the school Friday. Officials said it was immediately reported to the artistic director and principal.
Cincinnati Public Schools officials have not revealed the nature of the allegations or the identity of the teacher’s aide due to the ongoing investigation by the district, according to our media partners at the Cincinnati Enquirer.
The teacher's aide was immediately removed from the school and placed on administrative leave Friday night, according to a statement from the district.
"School officials spoke with a parent about the incident, and advised the school’s resource officer that this occurred," the statement said.
District spokeswoman Lauren Worley said she believes the Cincinnati Police Department is conducting its own investigation as well after the incident was reported to police Monday.
"Our staff takes this incredibly seriously," Worley said. "Inappropriate student contact of any kind is unacceptable."
Worley said the district is cooperating with police while the dual investigations proceed.
