MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) - Neighbors in a southeast Middletown neighborhood are concerned about recent issues with car break-ins.
“Our neighbor came over and told us that his wife’s purse or bag or something was stolen out of her car and it was ransacked,” Karen Garitson said. “That automatically sent us out to check our cars.”
Garitson said thieves made off with her son’s cerebral palsy medication and his iPod.
“With him having cerebral palsy and not being very verbal, music is his outlet -- it’s calming for him,” Garitson said. “It’s my son’s medication, he is handicapped. It’s for when he has a meltdown, he frequently has them in the car so we keep it in the car.”
Neighbors along the same street reported similar issues with break-ins to the Middletown Police Department. Garitson said homeowners a couple houses down from her had their truck stolen the same night her son’s medication was taken.
