OVI checkpoint: 1 driver cited for marijuana possession

WEST CHESTER TWP., OH (FOX19) - One driver was cited for marijuana possession at an OVI checkpoint in West Chester Township Thursday night, authorities said.

The vehicle was the only one out of 661 that passed through the checkpoint on Butler Warren Road at Tyler Court that was diverted for additional investigation, the task force said in a news release Friday.

Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Hamilton Post and members from the Butler County OVI Task Force conducted the operation.

“If you plan to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other arrangements before you drink,” the news release states. "Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired.
