MORAINE, Ohio (FOX19) - The investigation into the wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 that killed a Mason family of three is nearing conclusion and determined the driver who is responsible was legally intoxicated at the time, Moraine police said Friday.
Timmy Thompson, 51, Karen Thompson, 50, and their 10-year-old daughter, Tessa, were killed after a car driven by Abby Michaels, 21, of Xenia, crashed into their vehicle the evening of March 17 on Interstate 75.
At the time, investigators said they believed alcohol was involved.
On Friday, police announced a technical investigation and reconstruction of the crash is completed and blood alcohol results are back from the lab.
Those results show that Michaels was legally intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of 0.099 at the time of the crash, police wrote in a news release.
“This information along with other investigative records have been forwarded to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office for a formal determination of criminal charges against Abby Michaels,” police wrote.
