CINCINNATI, Ohio (FOX19) - A northern Kentucky woman is warning others about a scammer who poses as a University of Cincinnati doctor in need of money for a locksmith.
"I have credentials I can show you and I've locked myself out of my house and I called a locksmith but I have this much cash and I need a little bit more to pay them," the victim recalls the man saying.
Our Jane Doe victim also said the man showed her his driver’s license and let her take a picture of the ID. He also gave her his phone number and after doing some research she believes that she has been scammed.
The man in question has been linked to similar cases of theft dating back several years in Hamilton County. Court records indicate he’s used the same story on several victims and just came off of probation for a similar theft in December of 2018. FOX19 is not naming the individual in question at this time because it’s unconfirmed by law enforcement that he has been charged in connection with our victim’s incident.
“I’m not expecting a penny back and the only thing I wish to get out of this is to make other people aware of this guy’s scam," the woman said.
