CINCINNATI, Ohio (FOX19) - The opening of Coney Island’s new dive pool, Cannonball Cove, is delayed according the amusement park.

Coney Island credits the delay to a “setback in the concrete curing process," and said they will hold a future event to celebrate the opening of the new attraction. They have not yet released the date for this event.

The park will still open for the 2019 season with a preview day on Friday for season pass holders and the opening for the general public on Saturday.

Friday’s preview day will include the launch of the park’s summer-long charity fundraising event, “Cannonball for Charity” benefiting the Dragonfly Foundation.

Coney Island is launching the fundraiser with a splash. The park said season pass holders, Cincinnati sports team mascots, including the Reds mascots and the Bengals Mascot, and Ben-Gal cheerleaders will cheer on local celebrities as they participate in the “Biggest Splash Contest."

Celebrities participating include Livvy Stubenrauch, the voice of Young Anna from the Disney movie Frozen, Ron Oester, a former Cincinnati Reds player and Jon “Jon Jon” Curl and Natalie Jones, Q102 co-hosts.

The fundraiser will continue throughout the summer with the sale of raffle tickets. You can visit their website to purchase raffle tickets.
