NORTH AVONDALE, Ohio (FOX19) - At least two people were University of Cincinnati Medical Center with critical injuries after a nasty crash in North Avondale Thursday night, Cincinnati police said.

Rescue crews and five ambulances responded to Reading Road and Clinton Spring Avenue about 8 p.m., Cincinnati fire officials said.

Five people in all were hurt, but the extent of the other three victims’ injuries were not immediately available, they said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Witnesses told FOX19 NOW that one of the vehicles involved appeared to be driving recklessly prior to the crash.

“Pretty scary with him almost hitting me not once, but twice and then, you know -- school is out,” said witness Karran Smith. “I’m just more worried, like, what if it was kids crossing the street or something?"
