FLORENCE, Ky. (FOX19) - There are no reported injuries after a vehicle slammed into a Florence, Ky. pub Monday, according to Boone County dispatch.
It happened around 7 p.m. at the Brickhouse Pub and Grub, which is located at 7718 U.S. 42 at Ewing Boulevard.
Pictures from the scene showed a large white vehicle had gone through a wall of the pub, taking tables and chairs with it before it came to a stop.
Justin Sedan was at a nearby business when he heard the commotion.
“Like a big boom, like a big crash, you know, like a hammer smacking a piece of steel, that’s how it sounded,” said Sedan.
It is not clear how it happened. Employees at the scene said they believe the driver of the vehicle may have accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. Sedan said it is a miracle that no one was injured.
A tow truck removed the vehicle from the property on Monday. Contractors spent several hours boarding up the hole in the wall and cleaning up the damage.
Restaurant owners said the pub is open and operating normally.
