CINCINNATI, Ohio (FOX19) - Pike County’s 911 lines are down due to a severe thunderstorm that hit about 9 p.m. Wednesday, according to the sheriff’s office.
The system came back up intermittently but has been down again more than an hour as of 11:30 p.m., a news release states.
All 911 lines were rerouted to Waverly Police Department, meaning calls will be answered by the police department for the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.
Main phone lines for the sheriff’s office also are down.
Power was temporarily restored via generator for the sheriff’s office building.
