CINCINNATI, Ohio (FOX19) - The man found naked and ‘gravely ill’ near JACK Casino has been identified by family members, Cincinnati Police Lt. Steve Saunders says.
Police responded to the 1000 block of Gilbert Avenue July 4 around 3:30 a.m for a report of a person down.
Officers found a man, believed to be in his 40s, with no clothes on. He was unresponsive.
There were no apparent signs of a physical struggle or drug use, according to police.
Lt. Steve Saunders said at the time the man was not dead, but is ‘gravely ill.’
The man’s clothing was found a short distance away. Police say the clothing was a teal blue Nike t-shirt, Wrangler blue jeans, and gray Nike running shoes (size 12) that are well worn.
He was described as 6′3″ and weighs about 200 pounds with sandy brown hair, a receding hairline and is clean shaven.
No tattoos or jewelry were located.
The man was taken to University Hospital Medical Center and was last known to be in serious condition.
Lt. Saunders says they believe the man suffered from a medical condition that led to police finding him in his current physical state.
Police were not able to take a picture of the unknown man due to the serious nature of his condition which requires tubes and wires, Saunders says.
Lt. Saunders says police are not releasing the man’s name for the privacy of the family because the situation involves a serious medical condition.
He says the family was searching for their loved one and discovered media coverage about an unidentified man being located. They contacted the department and confirmed his identity. Lt. Saunders said no missing person report was filed in Cincinnati.
He did not give an update on the man’s condition.
