CINCINNATI, Ohio (FOX19) - Breakout Games, the nation’s leading escape room brand, is breaking out of its four walls and coming to Cincinnati on Thursday, July 11, to give away a total of $2,000 in cash as part of its second annual tour of Treasure Hunts.
Open to the public and similar to a scavenger hunt, participants will have the chance to follow coordinates released every 30 minutes that lead to $100 bills hidden throughout the city. According to Breakout Games co-founder, Bryce Anderson, the local treasure hunts are a way to bring the problem-solving fun of the brand’s popular escape rooms to the streets of its nationwide locations.
“Our goal is to bring people together, whether that’s through our escape rooms or a larger-than-life treasure hunt,” Anderson said. “When we introduced the idea in 2018, we had no idea we would receive such a massive response. We’re thrilled to return to our local Breakout cities with an experience unlike any other.”
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., game masters surrounded by red balloons will spread the word in Cincinnati by handing out cards with details for the evening’s treasure hunt. Coordinates for the hidden cash will populate every half hour, beginning at 5 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. on breakoutgames.com/cincinnati.
The Breakout Games Treasure Hunts will visit 27 cities throughout the summer, giving away a total of nearly $100,000 over the course of a two-year period since they began. For more information on Breakout Games and how to get involved in its nationwide Treasure Hunt, visit breakoutgames.com.
