Man in critical condition after being hit by car in Mt. Washington, police say

Mt. Washington, Ohio (FOX19) -A 40-year-old man was left in critical condition after he was hit by a car in Mt. Washington late Friday night, said Cincinnati Police.

Police say the crash happened in the 2300 block of Beechmont Avenue, near St. Vincent de Paul, at around 9:22 p.m.

The victim, Michael Henson, was crossing the street from the north of Beechmont Avenue to the south when a driver of a dark colored sedan hit him. The driver of the sedan failed to stop and left the scene. Henson was not in a marked crosswalk when the accident happened.

The driver was last seen driving east on Beechmont Avenue. said officers.

Police say Henson was transported by the fire department to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is in critical condition.

Excessive speed is not a factor in the crash and impairment is unknown as this time, said police.

Officers are no longer looking for the striking vehicle.
