COLUMBUS, Ohio (FOX19) - One person was injured during a shooting on the campus of Ohio State University early Sunday morning.

Columbus, Ohio police say the gunman fired several shots in the 1900 block of N. High Street around 1:31 a.m.

The victim, Wesley N. Powers, Jr., 21, was shot once in the thigh.

Powers, Jr. ran inside a McDonald’s and ran out the front door before collapsing on the sidewalk in front of a Pita Pit restaurant.

Police say he was transported to the OSU hospital in stable condition and is expected to survive.

OSU’s emergency management sent out an active shooter alert to students and faculty that said to remain inside.

Police say the shooter is still on the loose.
