CARTHAGE, Ohio (FOX19) - A large fire in Carthage early Sunday morning caused $15,000 in damage, according to fire officials.
Fire Chief Craig Coburn says firefighters arrived in the area of Dillward and West Seymour Avenues at 3:58 a.m. for a report of a junkyard fire.
Firefighters realized the fire was bigger than what they had expected when they arrived on the scene.
They had to cut through the fencing to get to the yard.
Firefighters found hot spots in piles of wooden pallets said Fire Chief Coburn.
Coburn says the fire was put out within 15 minutes.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
