COVINGTON, Ky. (FOX19) - U.S. Marshals arrested an escaped fugitive late Wednesday morning in Covington, according to a DOJ statement.

The fugitive, Henry Haas, ran from authorities while receiving treatment at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center as an inmate of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, US Marshals say.

Haas was reportedly in the Hamilton County Justice Center on a hold for the Adult Parole Authority for robbery.

After Haas fled, HSCO investigators filed an arrest warrant for Haas.

The investigators reportedly worked with the HSCO Fugitive Unit and the US Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team a fugitive-focused task force consisting of local, state and federal authorities.

Information later surfaced that Haas was in Covington, Ky. SOFAST then reportedly located Haas near the 2000 block of Russell Street and arrested him without incident.

US Marshals say Haas is currently in custody at the Kenton County Jail awaiting extradition back to Ohio.
