One dead in crash involving semi on I-275 in Union Township

UNION TOWNSHIP, Ohio (FOX19) - One person is dead after a crash involving a semi truck on Interstate 275 in Union Township, Ohio State Highway Patrol says.

The crash reportedly happened at 12:35 p.m.

Craig Sherwood, 61, of Aurora, Ill. was driving a 2019 International Semi when witnesses say the semi drifted off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and entered a wooded area before coming to a rest.

Sherwood reportedly died at the scene, according to the Clermont County Coroner’s Office.

The Union Township Fire Department and ODOT provided assistance at the scene.

OHPS says Sherwood was wearing his seat belt and neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected as a factor in the crash.
