CINCINNATI (FOX19) - Police agencies locally and nationally, fire departments, other first responders, residents and politicians are remembering the life of Springdale Police Officer Kaia Grant, 33.

The eight-year veteran with Springdale Police Department died Saturday night when a cruiser was struck during a traffic pursuit on Interstate 275, police officials said.

Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, R-Terrace Park, wrote in a Facebook post:

“Heartbroken to hear that Officer Kaia Grant, an eight year veteran of the Springdale Police Department, was killed in the line of duty late last night. Jane and I offer our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and fellow officers.”
