Trump approves Kentucky disaster declaration

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – President Donald Trump declared a major disaster existed in Kentucky on Saturday.

The declaration was made due to the coronavirus and makes federal funding available for the local governments and private nonprofit organizations “for emergency protective measures, including direct Federal assistance, for all areas in the Commonwealth of Kentucky impacted by COVID-19.”

Additional designations may be made at a later date.
