CINCINNATI (FOX19) - It will now be mandatory for all Kroger employees to wear masks for the seeable future starting on Sunday, according to Chairman and CEO Rodney McMullen.

Previously, only employees in certain areas of Kroger were required to wear masks.

Now all employees will be required to wear masks regardless of their location within the store, the store said in a news release.

Whether they are masks issued by the company or personal masks it is something you’re going to start seeing when you step inside the store.

“As America’s grocer, we have taken extensive measures across our business to safeguard our associates and customers throughout the COVID-19 pandemic,” McMullen stated in a message to customers.

Requiring employees to wear masks is just the latest safety measure Kroger has taken to help keep everyone inside their stores safe and healthy.

Earlier this month, Kroger implemented a capacity cap on the number of shoppers that would be allowed into its stores to allow for “proper physical distancing.”

Kroger has also added plexiglass partitions at checkout lanes to protect both its employees and customers.

The retailer also has established special hours for at-risk populations.
