Police search for man with stolen gun near Cincinnati Museum Center

Officers search woods for nearly an hour for man they say had a stolen gun

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - For almost an hour Sunday, officers searched the woods near the Cincinnati Museum Center for a man they say had a stolen gun.

Cincinnati Police say officers pulled the man over at Clark Road near Linn Street for a traffic violation but he ran away.

Authorities say the man dropped the gun at Richie’s Restaurant where it was later recovered.

Several police cars, officers, and K9 units searched for him near the restaurant on I-75 near Ezzard Charles Road but the man wasn’t found.

Police say they believe someone may have picked him up.

Even though they called the search off, investigators, including some with the Gun Task Force, say they will continue to search for him.

According to police, that gun the man dropped will be submitted for DNA analysis.
